Hindi Movie Review:

The film is another small budget movie trying to depict e aftereffect of Mumbai blasts and the emotional consequence of such incidents on people who face it. The movie also depicts that life goes on .. after every such happening and the spirit of Mumbai stays intact. The story of the movie is about Madholal who is happy man – has a number of friends who work in different offices whom he meets every day in the local train which he takes to go to office.

He is open minded man who loves to talk to neighbors and even strangers .He belongs to the group of people who love to share everything they have and nobody complaints about the inconveniences caused by sharing. But one day his simple life is shattered by the Mumbai bomb blasts although he survives the attack but he suffers many injuries – physically and mentally. He stops believing people and now he is a scared man — suspicious and even introvert. He finds it difficult to connect to other people but subsequently with time he again meets people who are supportive and his attitude towards life again becomes positive.

The performance of Subrat Dutta and Neela Gokhale is very fine, and the direction by – Jai Tank is also adept. Music is ok – strictly average and the movie appears very real as it tries to depict the story of blasts in a different way but there have been many movies on the same subject hence it may not attract the crowd looking for pure entertainment.

Movie Review

People who have heard of forced marriages and groom abduction are not aware of the real issues behind these marriages and the consequences of such marriages. The movies tries to depict what is it all about– -in a convincing way and it also tries to say that it is still happening. There are a number of cases of forced marriages in Bihar and a few marriages sustain after these kinds of incidents but some don’t .The film has a script which has been narrated very well and the performances of lead casts is good.

The story of the film is about a young man in New Delhi, who lives with his girlfriend and he has a dream to clear the civil services examinations one day. The father of the boy is happy about his son’s ambition but the father is shocked to know that his son wants to go for love marriage. In Bihar (in some castes’) parents rarely accept it – because a boy who can qualify for IAS will get bride from good rich family and the groom may get a lot of money in the form of dowry. The son goes half heartedly back to Delhi but on the way he is abducted and forcefully married to a girl by the girls’ father – who had been eyeing on him from sometime.

The film is about how the boy who has loved somebody else – consummates the forced marriage – he never expected to happen.

The story directed by Sushil Rajpal is nice and portrays a lot of drama .It is new story of groom kidnapping (till now no movie was made on Pakroua Shaadi ) and the shoot locations are extremely beautiful. There performance of Vinay Pathak and Akhilendra Misra is fine. The story shows how the family has to obey the dominating orders of the father because he is responsible for everything – and he is even ready to commit a crime for his daughter’s marriage. The father of the boy imposes his ambition of making his son an IAS .Both the father’s (father of girl and the boy) are fulfilling their dreams through their kids , and they do it because they want their children to be happy.

The film has wonderful performance from the lead cast and it is really catching new story for rest of the India outside Bihar.

Movie Review :

The movie “And Once Again” is not a commercial movie but it is not very logical – - non commercial kind of movie. It is kind of documentary which tries to depict the beauty of Indian State Sikkim and the story fails to attract because the scenes are not interconnected .The movie is made by Amol Palekar and it is about a couple Rishi and Manu who go to Sikkim for a pleasure trip and the husband meets a monk who resembles his dead wife. The man wants to try to know the truth behind the resemblance of the monk to his wife.

The past story is that Rishi was married to he woman who is now a monk and they had a kid and the son and the wife disappear one day after an explosion at an international location where Rishi is posted. The story tries to show the impact of violence on life and thought of people but the movie fails to due to low intensity. The monk turned wife doesn’t appear worried of what happened to her and now she is ok with her current status nor she longs to get back to normal life .The current wife who should be worried to see her husband’s ex returning but the effect of all these sequences is not very strong.

The performance of lead actors Rajat Kapoor , Rituparna Sengupta and Antara Mali are ok and the cinematography is nice as one sees Sikkim Mountains and monasteries but the movie does not attracts for the lacks of intensity in presentation, although the script was nice.

Movie Review:

Lafangey Parindey is an average kind of movie—not the best but comes with a few attractions. Deepika’s fans waiting to see her in action will like her scenes and she does not appears like a blind girl – she is super-active throughout. The lead actor Neil Nitin Mukhesh is great in appearance and he has been given lot of  mumbaiya dialogues to say but he is not very strong at delivering it. The movie is directed by Pradeep Sarkar and like the previous one of Yash Raj – - Badmaash Company — it too brings in a gang of youngsters. The movie lacks a great script but it has been presented well with a number of graphics and actions aimed to attract young audience.

The story of the movie is about Nandu – who is a street biker and a gangster and Pinky Palkar — who is a blind girl who want to fly like a bird. Nandu is the teacher who helps Pinky to learn the steps which will enable her to see things without eyes. Nandu is a good fighter but he is not the ardent lover kind of boy .Pinky works hard to achieve her goal and becomes a dancer on roller skates and later Nandu realizes that he has been in love with the girl.

The music of the film is ok – average .The cinematography of most of the Yash Raj Banner films are fine and same can be said for this movie. The script is weak as it is more or less predictable in various stages. The lead actor’s looks are nice to match their characters need and the performance of lead stars is ok. Neil looks fine, Deepika is perfect as ever and Piyush Mishra and Anand Tiwari are ok.

The movie tries to deliver entertainment in patches. It is a kind of time pass movie.

Hindi Movie Review :

The movie is about a legal battle fought by a girl to prove that she was raped – which is very difficult to prove – so comes the title Kis Hudh Tak but the way the subject has been treated it is very undesirable and insensitive. The movie is about a flirt boy Sharad who has a politically ambitious mother and the boy dates the lead actress of the film Dia – who later files a complaint that she has been raped by her boyfriend. The movie is about how the girl has to prove that it was not mutual consent.

Sharad is sent to jail and Dia who is a law student tries to fight the battle to get justice for being raped by her boyfriend. The film goes very offensive on the subject which annoys the audience .Treatment for this kind of subject should be logical and sensitive but the movie comes with a number of old dialogues and portrayal – which makes everything almost predictable and even annoying. There are so many movies made in past on similar issues and it does not tries to portray a newer version which could have appeared like an authentic effort to bring the subject to people.

The cinematography of the movie is average and songs are very weak — -that do not add to the movie. The film has good performance from the lead actress Shital Shah and the actor Pavan Sharma is ok .The performance of the actress who plays the role of mother of the boy is nice and she looks strong in her role. The way the movie repeatedly use the words “rape”, it gets heavy the viewers.

The movie is designed for a section of audience and it may not be liked by all.

Movie Review :

Aamir Khan should be praised for promoting the film Peepli Live as the film has been marketed like a commercial movie and it raises the issues of farmer suicide and greed of some people of society who pretend to be great people but they exploit some of the poorest of poor for their benefit. It has been found that many farmers in Maharashtra, M.P and Punjab have committed suicide because they are unable to pay back bank loans as they suffered losses in agriculture .The movie also shows that the class of people — the politicians or media –promises to deliver their best but they make use of people’s sentiments to make money and to gain power.

The story of the movie is about a farmer Natha and Budhiya , the two brothers and they have taken loans from bank which they cannot pay back therefore they go and meet the local politicians who says the benefit is given to the farmer who commits suicide and Natha agrees to commit suicide to get the benefits.

It is election time and a newspaper sends its people to cover the story of farmer suicide. The report Rakesh informs about Natha’s decision of committing suicide and local politicians try to makes use of Natha’s plan to commit suicide to get benefit in elections. Natha’s son wants him to agree to the suicide plan as it will provide him the job of a policeman.

An English channel gets the news of farmer planning to commit suicide and the lead reporter reaches the place to cover the story and the story gets wide coverage which raises the TRP of the channel. In between the reporter is informed of another farmer suicide but the channel is not interested in covering it because it may not help in getting the required TRPs.

The film tries to depict that nobody who comes to know of Natha’s plan to commit suicide tries to prevent it or tries to solve the loan issue instead everybody is interested in exploiting the situation for their personal benefit. The script is fine and the depiction is non-preachy hilarious. Farmer suicide has been a troubling issue and there are even cases of fake loans — the government’s policy does not provide a regulated and justified approach towards these problems.

The film is fun to watch and the performance of lead actors Omkar Das, Shalini Vatsa , Raghuvir Yadav is just perfect. The English Channel reporters played by Malika and Vishal are also up to perfection.

It is a fine movie which can be watched in the weekend.

Priyadarshan brings in another remake of south movie Vellanakalude Nadu and this one has excellent performance from Akshay Kumar and Rajpal Yadav but the movie lacks content to keep things consistent. The film is about a common man , Sachin Tichkule who is a contractor and he is considered useless by his family members because he believes in simple working until one day he realizes that the simple way may not bring him success and therefore he adopt the corrupt path to get success. The changed Sachin , is the person who does not like to walk on his constructed road and he believes more in broken roads because it gives him an opportunity to construct.

Sachin is ready to pay bribe to the commissioner to get the contract but at the municipal office he meets his ex – girlfriend, who is a municipal commissioner. The movie gets funny when the Rajpal Yadav and Akshay get together to do something positive and end up in a number of errors. A sequence of Johny Lever trying to repair a road roller is another funny one.

There are many one and two liners- dialogues which are extremely funny but in the middle part of the movie – the sequences get repetitive and this makes the film too lengthy. The film tries to show a family and where there are brother , sister , father and the extended family members and also a track of romance between the municipal commissioner, who is Sachin’s ex – girlfriend and the contractor is shown – -which appears out of context.

Priyadarshan had said before the release of the movie that it should not be promoted as a comedy , instead it should be promoted as a movie on corruption ,and this is true for the film because only in parts and in certain dialogues , you feel it has comedy. High expectations for comedy and fun are not met.

Music is ok but it erupts from somewhere (in most of the Priyadarshan movies, you do not find a sync between the songs and story sequence)

Performance wise Akshay does the best and his looks are out of books .The movie showing the story of family and the sets are nice. Rajpal Yadav is another gem in the movie .Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Sachin’s father is perfect and the relationship of brother and sister is nice but the performance of Urvashi is not up to the mark although the actor doing the role of sister in law does a nice job. Trisha has a small role and she looks graceful in the costume but there is no chemistry between the lead pair.

The movie will attract every genre of audience because it is a family film but those going for just comedy may be disappointed.

The movie uses caricatures to ridicule American policy of searching for Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Tere Bin Laden is about a boy who works in a TV cable station and has the ambition to go to America. It is very common to see people in India in certain parts (like Punjab) and in Pakistan– upper middle class –a hype to fulfill the dream to reach any of the western country.

The movie shows a young boy aspiring to start a career in journalism in America. The boy works at a cable TV station and his ambition to go to America is destroyed when he mentions bombs like words, and his visa is cancelled. One day he makes a fake video of a farmer who appears like Osama Bin Laden .The video of Osama turns out to be a great work because the person appearing in the video exactly resembles an Arabic man who is speaking against America in Arabic and making threats.

The movie show America under Bush , who is trying hard to get Osama Bin laden and sends secret agent to catch Osama and the missiles hits the chicken of the farmer (Osama look alike) – - the prime target is still alive but the wild life of the region is finished. The man resembling Osama gets scared.

The movie tries to say that there is no man called Osama who has been held guilty by the American government for the trade centre attacks. The man behind the white turban holding the AK 47 can’t be captured because he does not exist.

The performance of lead actors is convincing and the movie is ok to watch.

The movie “Udaan” is not just the issue of the growing teenage boy but it is about the pressure created by parents on children to pursue their dream without considering if the kid is interested in pursuing the dream, he is capable or not .The burden and the emotional problems faced by middle class teenagers along the issues of growing age is depicted in the movie and the movie shows it with a different angle.

The story of the movie is about a young boy Rohan who is expelled from school for watching a C – grade movie with his group and then he comes back to his dad who is a strict disciplinarian. The boy who never got in touch with normal everyday family life in hostel faces the new realities of life where he has to grow up to fight for his future and he meets his step brother who is subjected to abuse of his father everyday ,who is protected by his uncle .

The movie shows the age when young mind want to be free to do things as per their wish as they realize they are growing, these minds are overburdened by the issues of life and all the happiness of growing goes away. The movie has a nice performance from the lead actor Rajat Barmecha , Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor.

The movie is another wonderful cinema from Anurag Kashyap who never forgets to tell that the movie is not directed by him and he gave no contribution instead all the credits goes to debutant director Vikramaditya Motwane .

“Lamhaa” shows how an intelligence officer has to struggle in the valley to prevent violence. The movie tries to depict the plight of Kashmiris , who are fighting for something but what they achieved after so many decades of fight and how their life is effected by their own actions is shown. Today’s Kashmir has very less number of Kashmiri pandits – the community that owned the place, and the families of Kashmiri Pandits do not want to settle in Kashmir – so the aim is achieved – now what ?

The people in valley have so many leaders –who guide and misguide to promote people to involve in terrorist activities and so many people easily fall prey to separatists views. What is the result of all these, the movie tries to convey this message.

The movie shows the beautiful Kashmir turning into a playground of militants and the romance between female activist of the militant group and ex – militant Aatif flourishes in the valley. The couple realizes that their dream of living a peaceful life may never get fulfilled if they continue fighting the never ending battle and the two try to get back to normalcy but after getting caught into the situation it becomes very difficult for the couple to get back to normal life.

The fundamentalist leaders Pasha and the Haji – both continue to spread the message of hatred and and the middlemen who are given the government power, they too make use of the situation to make money.

The movie shifts from one point to other too frequently which is one of the drawbacks; otherwise it is a nice film trying to show –what is happening in Kashmir after so much of fight and struggle. The movie has Sanjay Dutt doing a strong and impressive role. Sanjay Dutt’s performance as always is dominates the whole picture. Bipasha and Kunal are equally well in their role. Kashmir has been a godly place but now it is turned into ashes and the cinematography shows it. Music is nice, which meets the requirement of the script.

The movie is not just entertainment; it has a real life issue to portray.
