The success of animated film Hanuman has opened the doors for animated films in India. Krishna followed soon after Hanuman and made decent business too.
More than business it is important to see the rise of films for the children, which till now depended only on the animated films made abroad.
This time around director Rajiv Ruia has created a blend of animated as well as live characters. The story has been crafted in a way wherein things turn around on the advent of Lord Ganesha in their house in the form of an idol, which is not just an idol.
The story is revolves around a family. Ashu, an eight year old kid lives with his parents and his maid. The boy is going through a phase where he feels lonely and is in need of company. The only company he gets is in the form of his maid.
On one rainy day the boy saves a mouse from drowning and saves his life. He brings the small mouse home and tells the maid about it. She is very happy tells the boy that he has saved the pet of Lord Ganesha. Further, the maid narrates Ashu the story of Lord Ganesha and his pet Muskhraj (mouse).
After the story, the boy finds a new friend for himself in the mouse. He is excited about his new found bond with the pet. The story moves on to the situation where his family undergoes crisis and this coincides with the forthcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The maid convinces the members of the family to bring Lord Ganesha home. Things start turning around after the idol is brought home.
The movie has the potential to rope in children till the theatres and iot is high time since films for children are promoted in our highly populated country.
