Konkona Sen turns to comedy for a change

After being the face of off-the-league and serious cinema, Konkona Sen Sharma is ready to take up the challenge of comedy films. Konkona Sen for the first time indulges in comedy in her forthcoming movie Sunglass. The movie has been directed by Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh.

The talented actress is upbeat about playing a comic role for a change. “i play a young housewife in Sunglass. it’s a fairy tale kind of a character. i ‘ve never done something like this before. Comedy depends on various factors. Different people find different things funny. i think today’s audience finds slapstick comedy very funny,” she said. We agree!

But with films like Metro, were she plays a city girl and then Chudiyan of Yash Raj Producitons, may be it’s time for commercial movies to see some good actors essaying the varied roles.
