Movie Review Marigold –An Adventure in India

Marigold is movie for Salmaan fans. The movie is trying to be a Bollywood masala movie and has resulted in no kind of movie. Alone Salmaan Khan with no lovely regional songs, locations or a mother and Indian beauty can not get all the result to make a movie a blockbuster. The movie is sloppy many a times in many areas. The script is not strong and the makers have missed a lot of details in the movie. The current generation of audience is much critical for a movie and cannot accept all kinds of stuff.

The movie Marigold is directed by Willard Carroll. The movie casts Salman Khan as Prem, Ali Larter as Marigold Lexton, Nandana Sen as Jaanvi, Helen, Suchitra Pillai, Ian Bohen as Barry, Shari Watson, Vikas Bhalla, Vijayendra Ghatge, Kiran Juneja, Gulshan Grover, Rakesh Bedi.

Marigold story is about a hot tempered American Lady who comes to India with no luggage, to perform in a movie. When she reaches India she realizes that the movie has been stopped due to financial problems.

She finds no help and only option she gets is to be with the choreographer Prem who takes her into his dance group. Prem teaches Marigold to dance on various Hindi songs .He tries her to teach the depiction of emotions in the dance sequences and during the dance performance Marigold starts loving Prem.

Prem is from a royal family and he is fixed for an arranged marriage with Janvi. Marigold on getting the news that Prem is engaged for an arranged marriage to Janvi tries to leave the ancestral property of Prem.

Janvi talks to Marigold about the arranged marriage and convinces her that their marriage is not a love marriage and may not take place. Marigold has a boyfriend who comes to meet her in India and finds Marigold in depression. The movie goes like after many problems the end is a happy one.

The movie has been dealt very badly with making no impression on the audience. The audience does not like many things of the movie. Ali Larter makes her presence felt and Salmaan damages his much built image of Partner. Salman’s dialogues are not clear.

Half of the actors have done their part well. Many actors are fitted in odd characters for no reasons. Rakesh Bedi presents good comedy scenes. The direction has been very lumbering. Audience does not wish to watch such Hollywood movies in any part of India.

The rating for the movie is 2/10.
