The Victoria movie of 1970 had Ashok Kumar, Pran and Naveen Nishcol; it was a good movie. The new movie has been inspired by the previous version and directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan but the movie could not bring the effect the previous one. The cast of the movie includes Om Puri as Rana, Anupam Kher as Raja, Jimmy Shergill, Preeti Jhangiani as Devyani, Sonia Mehra as Sara, Kamal Sadanah as Ranjit.

Javed Jaffrey as Bobby Bombata, Tora Khasgir as Tora, Rajesh Khera as Karan.

The story of the movie is about the diamonds of 300 crores. One of the industrialist, Bobby and his girlfriend, Devyani plan to own the diamond by hook or by crook and after they fail to get the diamond by paying for them, they hire a gang of crooks to get the diamond The girl Tora is one of the gang member who runs away with the diamond on getting them by stealing and gets stabbed by Ranjit. She hides the diamonds in Victoria and the Victoria driver, Raman, gets caught by the police on searching for the diamond.

The daughter of the Victoria owner, Sara takes the Victoria to ride herself and also she has to find the culprit responsible for stealing the diamond so, then, the police would release her father from jail. The story is of all these characters along with two crooks Raja and Rana, running in search of the diamonds. Jimmy Shergill plays the an expert on diamonds who falls in love with Sara.

The actors like Jimmy Sheirgill are always good at his performance. Soniya Vinod Mehra is a newcomer in the group and looks to be a debutant through her performance as well. Javed Jaffrey, Preeti Jhangiani, Kamal Sadanah, Tora are great at their performances. Rajesh Khera and Jatin Sial are average.

The movie wasn’t promoted well before its release. Only a few days before the actual release of the movie the music was launched. The promos were visible on televisions just two to three days before the release of the movie. The promos of the movie had the song from the 1970 movie ‘Do Bechare ’, that was an average song.

The roles of Raja and Rana are most important for the success of the movie and the two actors, Anupam Kher and Om Puri are experts at acting, except in a few scenes Anupam Kher looks a bit dull and not in form. Om Puri carries his role with mush effect and charisma. The movie has many points to make it a hit but many times lacks the grasp on the audience.

The rating for the movie is 3/10
