Music Review Laaga Chunari Mein Daag

The movie Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is presented by Yash Chopra and will be released in October. The promos of the movie have been released and music of the movie is entertaining. The movie has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar.The cast includes Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Konkona Sen Sharma, Abhishek Bachchan.

The music of the movie is available on Yash Raj Music.

The singers are Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghosal, Swanand Kirkire, Pranab Biswas, Babul Supriyo, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Shubha Mudgal, Meeta Vasisht, K K, Rekha Bharadwaj, Sonu Nigam. The lyrics are of Swanand Kirkire and music has been directed by Shantanu Moitra.

The songs are good to hear and like any other Yash Raj movies the songs are charming and compelling.

Hum To Aise Hain - The song shown in the TV promos of the movie is Hum To Aise Hain hain Bhaiya . The song lyrics are of Banaras kind and touch of small town culture close to river Ganga is there. The song has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal that matches on to the two leading ladies in the movie, Rani Mukharjee and Konkana Sen. The song has been supported Swanand Kirkire and Pranab Biswas.

Zara Gungunalein Chalo -This is a party song sung by Babul Supriyo and Mahalaxmi Iyer. This has a bit of western touch as it is having the sound of guitar and other party instruments.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag - The song has narration of poetry as well along with the music in the background. The narrations have been performed by Mita Vashisht and song has been sung by Shubha Mudgal. The background lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire. The original song was a popular Gazal song of 80’s and most of the lyrics are of 80’s.

Ik Teekhi Teekhi Si Uff Karari Si Ladki - KK and Shreya Ghoshal have sung the song that is like of 70’s number and the Hum To Aise Hain lyrics is also present in the music of Teekhi at the end of the song.

Ehi Thaiyaa Motiya - This is a mujra kind of song having the music of Tabla and the sound of Ghungaroo. It is expected that Hema Malini is performing in this song. Rekha Bhardwaj has sung this song.

Kachchi Kaliyaan-This is a group kind of song as the tease number performed in marriages. The song is sung by Sonu Nigam, KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal.

The album is good to hear 4 / 10.
