The fight between the TV news channels and use of unethical means to get high TRP ratings is the subject of the movie It’s Breaking News. The news channels want to get more and more of audience and a high TRP will enhance their finances. The news section in media has till now made the impression of being one of the most reliable media section and this section of media is getting fraudulent to make money, is the subject of the movie It’s Breaking News.

The movie Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani by Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla was one of the movies who showed the depressing face of news channels. This is a movie having less popular actress and not an expert director.

The high competition among the news channels and the inappropriate methodologies used by he channels to overcome the competitor is displayed in the movie. The subject of the movie is very powerful and directors like Madhur Bhandarkar would have delivered a better movie from this subject.

The story of the movie is about a young girl Vidya having a degree in journalism who gets an opportunity as a news correspondent soon after she leaves her college. She joins the job and is in search o news to enhance her career prospect and in her search she encounters a girl from Pune who is a victim of sexual abuses. She gets news to cover as a sting operation.

During the sting operation she finds that the DIG of the area is responsible for the crime and she is troubled by the thought that she couldn’t help the sufferer instead she watched the crime to happening in front of her eyes. Vidhya promised the victim that the footage of crime would not be shown on the TV but the channel telecasts the news and this makes Vidya to revolt. She leaves her job and joins her uncle’s press and tries to get justice for the raped girl.

The movie has a great message to convey but the director is not completely effective in delivering the final outcome. The dramas of the news channels are shown in the movie. Koel Puri is effective and most of the actors are good.

The movie story is not the one to be watched with family and kids and also you do not find great comedy in the movie. For critics the subject of the movie is very good. The movie will fair average as the families going with little children for light entertainment won’t opt for this kind of movie.

The rating for the movie is 6 / 10
