Movie Review: Speed

The movie Speed that is inspired from Hollywood movie Cellular and has many scenes that look simply copied from the movie Cellular, has the advantage of being the single release of this week and another advantage is that the movie Cellular was a good action thriller movie that carried an underlying suspense throughout the movie and Speed will also be able to entertain audience by showing the same story enacted by desi Bollywood actors.

The movie Speed has been made by Baweja Movies and the producer of the movie is Harry Baweja and director is Vikram Bhatt. The cast in Zayed Khan as Sandy, Urmila Matondkar, Aashish Chaudhary, Aftab Shivdasani, Sanjay Suri as Siddharth ,Tanushree Datta, Amrita Arora.

The story of the movie is about a youngster Zayed Khan who wants to prove to his girlfriend how much he loved her and goes after her to London to convince her. In London a detective agent gets a CD from two people from a militants group about his wife’s kidnapping. He follows the instructions given by the two militants and realizes that he is being used for the killing of the Prime Minister on London tour.

Sanjay’s wife Urmila Matongkar gets a telephone wire connection from where she is able to make a call on Zayed’s cellular who is not known to her but she explains him that she has been kidnapped and how to release her from the kidnappers. Zayed for the first time in his life is serious and wants to save somebody’s life and whole movie is about how he keeps talking with Urmila through a cellular and helps her family get out of trouble.

The movie has the story and look to keep the audience guessing what will happen next. The movie is good as the audience watch all that is happening with interest. Everything looks realistic and mature.

The director has made a really lovely movie comparable to the Hollywood movie Cellular. The western looks of the characters and locations look realistic. Music of the movie is average. Actions and thrills are properly shown.

The actors Urmila Matondkar and Zayed Khan are better than the Hollywood actors in the movie Cellular. The role played by Zayed Khan is just made for him and he delivered it excellently. All the other actors are average with their performance.

The movie will be liked by youngster who like Hollywood movies, actions and also by audience who want to watch international locations and a good suspense story.

The rating for the movie is 7/10
