Weekly Box Office ReviewWeekly Box Office Review The festive season is on and the movies like Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Bhool Bhulaiya can cash on the audience going to the theaters along with their families in the season. It is expected that opening of Bhool Bhulaiya will be better then Laaga Chunari Mein Daag but the movie by Yash Raj’s will catch slowly like the previous movie Chak De did. Around 600-650 prints of Bhool Bhulaiya have been released and 400-450 prints of Laaga Chunari Mein Daag has been initially released. Last few weeks were giving negative results at box-office due to the Ramzan month when watching movie is prohibited and also the movies released weren’t very good. Most of the movies like Chhodon Na Yaar, 50 Lakh, Its Breaking News, Go, Darling were below average movies. The only movie which came out of the blue was Johnny Gaddaar that made 3 crores in the first week and increased the profits in the subsequent weeks, to get it counted in the hits of the movie. Dil Dosti Etc. was a low budget movie and made collection of 1.5 crore in the first week but the movie is slowly getting watched by the audience and is popular amongst the audience. Other movies like Dhol made 15.50 crores in two weeks, Dhamaal 29 crores in four weeks, Hey Baby is a super hit for the year and Chak De India is declared to be the blockbuster of the year. Hey Baby engrossed a total of 51.50 crores in India and performed equally well in overseas markets. Chak De India got 62.50 crores in India and the movie is also a hit in overseas market. The year 2007 is waiting for the release of two big projects Saawariya by Sanjay Leela Bhanasali and Om Shanti Om by Farah Khan to get the result for the highest profit making movies of the year. Along with these big budget and highly promoted movies, some other less promoted movies like No Smoking, Jab we Met, Goal etc. Last 5 posts in Main
