Costs incurred by Bollywood moviesCosts incurred by Bollywood movies The money factor is much important in Bollywood and the study of money spinning by movies on Box office is making it further important. In the last decades many movies declared to be a flop were good in terms of money making in long run. The money spent in movie makings is rising to high levels in Bollywood and casting charges are also getting raised by the prominent Bollywood actors and actresses. It was in news lastly that Salman Khan took Rs 26 crore for playing lead character in a movie. This has been the highest money taken by any Bollywood actor for a role. One of them most expensive movies that is under plan will be made by Ravi Chopra and it has been named The Mahabharata that will be based on the Hindu religious text of Mahabharata. The production houses are spending money towards movie making as the movie having technical excellence, prominent production skills and good actors are making money three to four times more than spent in making the movie. Ravi Chopra is expected to spend a total of $30 million towards the making of the movie The Mahabharata that will be shown in theatres in 2008. The movie makers in Bollywood are concentrating towards the market available in overseas and the distribution chain of Bollywood movies is also getting strengthened by the business minds involved in the Industry’s field of art. To attract the overseas market the Bollywood movie makers are trying to shoot at attractive location all over the world and that increases the cost of movie making. The overall effect of all these is that the industry is concentrating to make the best to get the best and to make a good movie the expense needed to be incurred by the film makers. With the integration of western production houses to Bollywood like Sony taking up movies Saawariya to distribute, the scope for Indian movie is growing and we can expect technically and otherwise best shot products being delivered to the Indian audience in the near future by Bollywood.
