Upen Patel bowled over Akshay Kumar

Confessions can land you in trouble at times and for some they can even be both funny and embarrasing at the same moment. For Upen Patel the latter was more apt after he had confessed that he was in awe of the Bollywood’s Khiladi No.1 Akshay Kumar.

Upen Patel is currently shooting in London for his next movie Namaste London where he had a special guest at the sets. Actor Akshay Kumar made a sudden entry at the sets of the movie where Upen was shooting for a crucial emotional scene. Realising his mentor was there on the sets, Upen messed up with his lines and took 20 takes for perfecting the scene.

Prior to this, Akshay who sat in front of the monitor to watch Upen’s performance was asked by director Vipul Shah to leave the sets for the completetion of the shot.

Akshay who has never before acted alongside Upen, wanted to check out the actor’s performance before their scene together in Namaste London. “Akshay sat quietly before the monitor to observe Upen,” says Vipul. As soon as Upen noticed this, he started fumbling. “Upen just couldn’t deliver his dialogue.

We kept on doing retakes, and even after 20 retakes them Upen couldn’t deliver the scene. Finally, i had to request Askhay to leave the set, so that Upen could deliver his shot in peace,” says Vipul.

Meanwhile, Bollywood’s latest hearthrob admitted being nervous seeing his mentor around. i was aware of the fact that Akshay would be around, yet i got intimidated. He’s my role model and i became very conscious of his presence. Vipul was extremely co-operative and he didn’t lose his temper when i forgot my dialogue,” says Upen.
