Zee Studio will start Satyajit Ray Film Festival

The movie maker Satyajit Ray is known to be one of the creative and technical brains in Indian cinema who brought out many innovations to the Bollywood. The director has received many awards from Indian cinema and world cinema for his achievements in the field of art.

The fame and knowledge of the director will be saluted by the Zee studios that has announced a program called ‘Saluting Satyajit Ray’.This is a film festival on the director’s name to give him tribute for his novelty in cinema. The studios will screen movie made by the director like Apur Sansar, Devi, Parash Pathar, Sampati etc.

The prominent Indian movie maker Satyajit Ray was regarded a century movie maker and was born in hub city of cinema and Bengali culture, Calcutta in 1921.The director started his career as an artist in movies and later made movie after having met the French and Italian filmmakers. He made 37 movies and his movie Pather Panchali, won Best Human Document at Cannes. He breathed his last in 1992.He received many awards in his career and even in 1992 he received the Academy Honorary Award for his work
in cinema.

The festival on Satyajit Ray by Zee studios will be started on Sunday 2nd December. The initial movie screened will be Apur Sansar that will be showed on 2nd December at 3 pm.

The movie screened on the channel will have subtitles in English to reach audience who do not know the language Bengali. Sharmila Tagore and Soumitra Chatterjee in the lead roles in the movie.Business Head of Zee Studios said that the huge audience all over India will like to watch the Satyajit Ray movies to get the glimpse of excellence in cinema.

Most of the Satyajit Ray movies are based on stories from literature that belong to different categories like social and political. .The movies were known to create awareness amongst people in the initial post independence decade. The Bengal culture is prevalent in the movies of Satyajit Ray and the blind unscientific faith of people in socio-culture has been criticized in his movies.
