Halla Bol and Khoya Khoya Chand based on the backdrop of Bollywood

Showing the story of Bollywood is just not uncommon amongst the movie makers but the trend of taking the script of today’s movies from the Bollywood of 1950, 1960, 1970 and showing it to the 2007 generation has become the most famous success formula for the movie makers. Credit of OSO success goes to 1970’s Bollywood and to the hair style and dress style followed by the movies made in 1970’s.

The story of the movie Karz that was made by Subhash Ghai was shown in OSO and the style of showing was mostly copied from 1970’s.Farhan Khan had said in an interview that the movie is a tribute to Bollywood cinema of 1970 but the movie looked to be making fun of Bollywood of decade 1970 and 2000.

If the success formula for today’s Bollywood movie comes from Bollywood itself then why not other movie makers try it out. The coming releases in the next few weeks include the movie Khoya Khoya Chand which is an ambitious movie of Sudhir Mishra and it will be showing the unexplored chemistry of Waheeda Rehman and Guru Dutt as is predicted by the movie experts. The other releasing movie Halla Bol will depict the rise and fall of a superstar in Bollywood.

The other famous movies that were made having Bollywood in the backdrop itself in earlier decades were Rangeela ,Guddi, Woh Lamhe etc. Woh Lamhe was based on the relation between Mahesh Bhatt and Parveen Bobby. Rangeela was an imaginary love story and Guddi was more of documentation on Bollywood.

The movie The Last Lear by Rituparna Ghosh that got many international awards and was screened in the Toronto film festival was also a movie based on an anchor of Bollywood. There have been many movies releases in the current year out of which the movie Victoria no 203. was also a movie copied from the 70’s decade

It can be concluded that 70’s Bollywood cinema and Bollywood itself is a hit with movie makers.
