Weekly box -office - Bollywood

The last week’s releases were Khoya Khoya Chand and Dus Kahaniyaan. Both the movies had a subject that was liked by certain group of audeince. Dus Kahaniyaan had 10 stories out of which only 3 to 4 stories were enjoyed by the audience and Khoya Khoya Chand was movie for a certain class of audience that did not include the youth audiences going to theatres and multiplexes. Both the movies did not start as huge movies at the box office and in this week the business of these two movies did not increase but is declining.

The previous movie releases were Aaja Nachle and Gauri -The Unborn. Madhuri was able to get audience to theaters but most of her fans have watched the movie and the collections by the movie are reducing as the weeks are progressing. Gauri -the Unborn has been mostly rejected by the audience.

The movie Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal grossed less compared to the cost incurred in making of the movie. The collections of goal are also reducing as the weeks are progressing.

The previously running movie Om Shanti Om is still making a good business at the box office and the movie Jab We Met is the surprise hit of the year that is still grossing a good amount at the box office after six weeks of its release.

This week’s release will be Strangers but the movie is not promoted well and it doesn’t have a star attraction attached to its cast. So the movie is not going to get audiences to theatres like the movies OSO and Jab We Met. The business of both the movies will not be affected by this week’s movie release.

The box office collections of movies in India are:

Aaja Nachle – Rs 11 crores (Madhuri fans flocked at the theatres)
Gauri –The Unborn - 25 lakhs (Movie had bad script)
Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal – 14 crore (Lost in competition to Chak De India)
Om Shanti Om – 81 crore (Whatever investment has been made in the promotion of the movie has been gained by the movie makers with huge interests)
Jab We Met – 30 crore (Collection are very high as compared to the cost incurred in making of the movie)
