Though Bollywood did not have a great range of movie releases in 2007, some of the major events of 2007 in Bollywood are remarkable:

Bollywood goes to history cinema: Bollywood was marked by the 1970’s effect, coloring of 60’s and 50’s movies and remakes of movies made in 1970’s.The movie Om Shanti Om’s only selling point was 70’s cinema and the flop of the year RGV’s Aag was also made on 70’s cinema. Coloring of movies like Mughal E Aazm and movie on 1950’s cinema Khoya Khoya Chand had the history cinema effecting current Bollywood.

Ash - Abhi Marriage –The two most eligible couple of Bollywood Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan tied knots after the release of the movie Guru amongst the controversies related to their relations and families. The two stars were getting related to many of their co-stars but they married though Aishwarys Rai Bachchan was feared by the astrologers to be carrying a Magli Dosh that may affect the superstar Father –in –law Amitabh Bachchan .After the marriage the Bachchan family was in news for visiting temples and godly places.

Chak De India – The Taare Zameen Par, Aap Ka Surror and Chak De India are surprises of the year 2007.Though the movie Chak De India was a Yash Raj movie and top actor was Shahrukh Khan, it was not expected that the movie will be a hit as it had no lead lady and story was unconventional but the movie broke many records and surprised many by its lovely dialogues like Hockey Mein Chakke Nahee Hote and inspiring story on sports.

Debutants Year -The year is marked by the year of newcomers as Bollywood had come great debutant directors like Aamir Khan, Child artist Darsheel Safary, debuting actors like Neil Mukesh and Ranbir Kapoor and debutant actress like Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor.

New Advertising Techniques and Bollywood go overseas -Bollywood installed new advertising techniques in the year 2007 and explore the overseas market to get more famous and increase audience base. Bollywood movie like Saawariya made under Hollywood production house was also a new trend started in the year 2007.

The comeback of Madhuri Dixit through Aaja Nachle, Sanjay Dutt getting in - out of Jail and Monica Bedi getting out of jail were also in news in 2007.
