Ten best movies of Bollywood in 2007

The week is waiting to get the release of last few movies from Bollywood on the last Friday of the year 2007.In the last week of the year 2007 the overall achievements of Bollywood in the year 2007 can be estimated.

Some of the good movies releases in the year 2007 were:

Chak De India - The movie started a trend to make movies on sports related issue in India that was missing from some time. The movie was a blockbuster and a surprise hit as the movie did not have any top actress and ten new faces were able to impress the audience.

Taare Zameen Par –The year is also marked by the start of making mature movies on children and about children. The movie was innovative in many ways for Bollywood as the producer, director and actor of the movie Aamir Khan brought a new kid from nowhere to rule the hearts of the viewers.

Guru –The Mani Ratnam movie Guru is again a strong biographical depiction of a businessman that starts from Gujarat then to Turkey and then to India.

Om Shanti Om –In the trend of making movies based on the stories of 1970’s and 1980’s, the only movie that came out as a winner was Om Shanti Om that was also famous for the 31 starrer song Deewangi and debutant lead lady ,Deepika Padukone. The movie was able to gross huge revenues not only in India but also overseas.

Jab We Met –The only love story that was a hit this year in Bollywood was Jab We Met marked by real life separations of the lovers in the movie. Jab We Met started slow and the movie picked up after 2 weeks at the box office to get more and more viewers.

Bhool Bhulaiya-The Priyadarshan movie is new in being a horror movie. Though most of the audience went to the theatres to get comedy from cast, they were surprised to receive the horror factor.

Johnny Gaddar –The movie debutant Niel Mukesh was able to impress audience through his performance in a sleeping hit movie of the year. The movie started with rejection at the box office and as the weeks passed it started getting better reviews and more viewers.

Life in Metro -The movie depicting some realities of the people living in metro cities was praised for its real story, script and performances.

Bheja Fry - The most unexpected low budget hit of the year was comedy movie Bheja Fry marked by the grounded performance of Vinay Pathak.

Aap Ka Suroor - The movie is important to Bollywood as it has the music composer and singer Himesh Reshmiyaan in the lead role and it starts the trend of music composers singing and acting in the movies.

Partner, Heyy Babyy, Saawariya, Welcome, Dus Kahaniyaa, Aaja Nachle, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Tara Rum Pum, No Smoking, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom etc. were other popular movies of the year.
