Music Review: Bombay To Bangkok

Nagesh Kukunoor is shifting from making of meaningful cinema to some light fun and comedy movie. The first made by him is Bombay To Bangkok and the music of the album has been given by Salim - Sulaiman, Ronnie Shirish, Sukhwinder Singh, and Pritam and the lyricist of the songs are Mir Ali Husain, Ibrahim Ashk and Shabbir Ahmed.

‘Same Same But Different’ –The writer of the Dor team, Mir Ali Husain has written this song and the song along with Salim-Sulaiman, and the song has been sung by K.K .The voices of Shreyas Talpade and Lina Christianson (the debuting foreign face in the movie) is also present in the initial lines of the song. This song is one of the good dance numbers of the album.

‘Dheere Dheere’ –This song a bit Dheere in its approach. This is a slow soft melodious song and the song has been sung by Zubeen Garg. The song is average in disposition.

‘Dheere Dheere’(Remix)’ –The remix version of the original song ‘Dheere Dheere’ is not a loud remix song and is an another average one.

‘Lavani’ – This song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh and the song is written by Ibrahim Ashq. The song is more like a situational track that is not an impressive one but in the movie may be it gets impacting.

‘Dil Ka Haal Sune Dil Wala’ –The old song of Raj Kapoor ‘Dil Ka Haal Sune Dil Wala, Choti Si Baat Na Mirch Masala’ can be recollected on hearing this song. The song has been set in western tunes and cannot be compared to the olden magical song. The song has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan and the lyrics are of Shabbir Ahmed. This is a typical Pritam kind of song.

The album does not have many songs and the first song ‘Same Same But Different’ is the best of all the songs. The album is not getting promoted but the otherwise an average one. The song ‘Same Same But Different’ had the competence to reach the charts.
