In Bollywood, the date, on which a movie is released are considered to have an effect on the success of a movie. The movies released on a date that sums to a number 8 are considered to be unlucky like 17th, 8th, 26 are not considered to be lucky dates for a movie release. The movie makers and actors have lots of other beliefs like a lucky mascot in a movie. Earlier it was considered that Ajay Devgan’s presence makes a movie succeed and same way today Shahrukh Khan and Katerina Kaif are considered to a lucky for movies and few others are considered to be unlucky for their presence in a movie.

The producers generally have a date called muhurat fixed by an astrologer to starts making a movie and after the movie is completed the complete reel of the cinema is taken to religious place before making the release happen. The Balaji Telefilms are having the “K” belief that say that any movie name or TV serial name that starts with a K alphabet will be lucky for the serial to succeed. The other beliefs is that wearing stones and bracelets can help the actors fight evil effects and we can find Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan wearing a distinct bracelet or thread in their necks to keep away evil effects and enhance good luck.

The faith that the movie released in the last week of December and initial week of January are also considered to be unsuccessful and many Bollywood movie makers postponed the release dates of their movies to keep away the negativity. From many years it has been found that the movies don’t fare well on Box office if released in the initial week of January and last week of December.

The reason is that the last week of December and initial week of January are the days when people are busy in their family affairs and have less time and money to spend in watching movies in theaters and thus the box office market is down in this time .The A few religious text say that 15 Dec to 15 Jan is a month when any auspicious work should not be done because of the astrological influence things won’t fare well. Anyhow many times beliefs are accepted unknowingly by people though some reason is attached to it.
