Animation movies in Bollywood

There has been increase in the making of animation movies in Bollywood but Indian cinema is not using the advanced techniques and latest trends in animations in its movies and the result is that the final product of the animations movies are not as attractive as we see in the Hollywood movies. The last year many movies having animations were released which included My Friend Ganesha, Return of Hanuman and Taare Zameen Par.

Out of the three movies Taare Zameen Par faired well at the box office but the other two movies did not make the impact on the Bollywood. Return of Hanuman has been a sequel of the movie Hanuman that was released a year ago .The earlier movie Hanuman was not only praised for the story but got a good collection at the box office but the sequel of the same movie did not work on the Bollywood. The earlier version of the movie worked because of the cute looks of Hanuman and the good story of Ramayana but the sequel had repetitive looks and nothing innovative.

When technical view is used to make a movie the things should be new to the audience and the movies lacked it. The same thing happened to My friend Ganesha that looked like a movie made in 1970’s .Many times it looks that the special effects used in 1970’s were better than what the movie makers are trying to experiment in these days.

.The movie Taare Zameen Par was really good for its experimentations and innovative ideas. Even the animations used in the movie were not general animations but it used claymation, that is animation that is made using clay. The movie had used the effects with the help of animation designer Dhimant Vyas who made the title sequence and the Vyas’s forte with the help of claymation.

Whatever be the result but to try a new concept sincerely, while making movie like Aamir did in TZP makes the audiences feel worth watching a movie. Bollywood has initiated using technology and story clubbed together and we can expect betterment in the field as the movies roll out.
