Jodhaa Akbar gets premiered in controversies

The movie Jodhaa Akbar is released and the Bollywood movie critics have really liked the movie. The movie has some of the top actors of the Bollywood and during the premier of the movie some of the top Bollywood stars were invited to the show.

Almost all of the audience that was present during the premier had a good view about the movie. Only a few negative remarks regarding the length of the movie were made but the movie did not get anybody to criticize it.

The movie Jodhaa Akbar is based on the background of Indian history and as per the Rajput groups of the country to which Jodhaa belonged, no character called Jodhaa was ever linked to the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Not only the Rajput Hindu groups but the Muslim groups are not even agreeing that some princess called Jodhaa who was daughter of Rajput king was ever married to Mughal emperor Akbar.

The movie depicts that Jodhaa was a Rajput princess who married to Akbar and she gave birth to the next generation king of Mughal Empire, Jehagheer. Jehagheer also known as Salim is being claimed to be the son of Rajput princess Jodhaa.

As the movie is touching a very critical historical issue that can change the perception of audience about he Indian history who is watching the movie, the facts in the movie need to be correct because the effect of this kind of movie is generally long; lasting.

In the history books it is clear than the princess Jodha was never associated to Akbar but the movie Mughal-E – Aazm depicted Jodha to be wife of Akbar and from there the movie Jodha Akbar looks to be taking examples while it’s making.

Whatever be the fact if the movie is depicting the story in a changed way then it should get penalized for that. The screening of the movie has been stopped in many places in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and the violent rallies are being carried out that is not justifiable but legally the matter should be cleared with the movie makers by the Rajput groups who claim to know the facts better.
