Actresses celebrate International Women’s Day

The actresses in Mumbai celebrated the 8th March as International Women’s Day. A party was organized a day before on the evening of 7th March to celebrate the day where all the top ladies of the small screen and even movies were invited. The small screen actresses like Urvashi Dholakia ,Anchal, Kunika who play leading daughter-in-laws in the television attended the function organized for celebrating the International Women’s Day and all danced to the tunes of popular Bollywood song to celebrate the success Indian women achieved in cinema.

The popular India singer Alka Yagnik and many other successful Mumbai ladies were present in the party. The actresses celebrated their success in the their work field even when they were performing their household duties. The women of India have really made mark in every field of life but a huge cost has been paid by them and even by the social structure of India to get them to this height.

The Bollywood is known for giving a low status for female actresses as compared to men stars because the amount paid to the male actors in Bollywood is even more than double the amount paid to a top actress whereas the small screen is known for leading ladies getting more payment then the leading men. All the bahus of the small screen who are known laxmi’s of their programs are real life laxmi (money) as they get huge money for their each day of performance.

The leading actress on small screen like Smriti Irani can get up to a Rs 50,000 for her single day shoot whereas leading men may get half , around 20 to 25,000 for the same small screen program. Some of he prominent India ladies who are even known outside India for their success in their work areas is Sonia Gandhi, President Pratibha Patil, Indira Nui, Kalpana Chawla etc and in the field of cinema the actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty ,Tabu and director Mira Nari have succeed. In India the ladies like Farah Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Hema Malini are also known for their own strengths in their respective fields.

The actresses of Bollywood deserve to celebrate the day but it would have been better if they collectively could come out to form a scheme or give help to some kind of women related issue then just to enjoy the day.
