Bollywood celebrates holi

The festival of colors, Holi is one of the most important celebrations of India that is being celebrated by all regions, groups, communities, social organizations and industries. The custom of putting on colors on others and wetting the others with colored water is being celebrated by various groups in different ways. In the initial decades Bollywood celebrated holi in a different fashion when the dominating Bollywood family of Raj Kapoor called all people to his place and arranged for sweets, food items and colors.
All actors and stars of Bollywood came to Raj Kapoor studio dressed in white and got colored all over after the celebrations. The kids of Raj Kapoor and his brothers families that included Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and others collected to the place and whole day was marked by celebration, singing by prominent invitees to the party, coloring with water, putting colors , dancing and having all kinds of food and drinks.
After Raj Kapoor, the star Amitabh Bachchan was known for celebrating holi and he inviting people to his house and he celebrated holi in the typical North India style where all guests were first dipped in water tub full of colors and then they started playing with dry colors. The Industry had a palce where stars used to sing the local North Indian Holi songs and danced to tunes.
Many considered getting an invitation to Amitabh Bachchan’s holi festival to be an indication of his success in Bollywood. Amitabh Bachchan also stopped playing the Holi festival with pump and show, when his father Hari Vansh Rai Bachchan died and after him Shahrukh Khan took up calling people to his place for celebrations of holi but incidentally he too couldn’t carry the trend for years and stopped the celebration after one year. This has been the changing face of the festival Holi in Bollywood but anyway the festival is one of the best times to feel happy and share the bonding of living together.
