Music Review: Anamika (2008)

The movie “Anamika” is directed by Anant Mahadevan and music of the movie has been composed by Anu Malik. The lyrics of the songs are of Sameer and the movie stars Dino Morea, Minissha Lamba, Koena Mitra and Aarti Chhabria in lead roles. The movie is a suspense thriller.

Aashiqui –Shaan’s voice in the romantic song “Aashiqui” makes the song entertaining and the background of the song has the rock music touch. The song has been written by Sameer and has a kind of beats that are not all western and the effect is not marking enough to make the song reach charts .The outcome of the song is mediocre.

“Shagufta Dil”-The music starts slow and goes to high pitches and high beats with loud sounds. Too many instruments have been merged up to give no entertainment. The song has been sung by Shaan and this one is another below average kind of song in the album.

“Laagee Laagee”-This song has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and is another average number. The song is forceful and full of beats but looks like already heard. It is not a fresh song and lacks to entertain. Vocal have been done by Krishna.

“Aayo Re”- Sunidhi’s voice fits the song that is a Rajasthan folk based dance number but she looks like shouting instead of singing in the song at the high pitched parts. This song is also average in rendition.

“Aayo Re” (Club Remix) – Added sounds and beats in the folk song couldn’t make any difference to the final outcome of the song as such.

“Saath” – Lots of disco beats and synthesizer has been used in the song “Saath “ and the worst is that Anu Malik is himself singing with Sunidhi and the song is least hearable.

“Saath”(remix version) –Anu Malik’s this song has been also made for party goers but it is too loud even for party.

The album “Anamika” has some of the worst tracks and except the Shaan song “Aashiqui”, none is hearable.
