In the last year a few Punjabi films made record collections by the sale of tickets in UK box-office and these films got weekly collections higher than Hollywood or any other bollywood film. This encouraged Punjabi film makers to invest in making movies for audience in India and abroad. The film Hashar is one of the Punjabi films that comes up with the Punjabi culture and music and has the script to attract even the current generation.

The music of the film has been composed by Babbu Maan who is in lead role in the film and the film has been made under his banner Maan Films Pvt. Ltd.

The story of the film is about current youth that gets into intimate relations of love and when faced with the problems of life, the youngsters surrender to the situation instead of fighting it out. The film talks of love, passion and romance and the realities behind these human feelings.

The story is set in University Campus and university politics has also been shown in the movie. The university politics can turn out to be ugly and personalized. The misunderstanding in relations and college life turmoil is depicted in the film.
