Weekly Box –office report

The current week is marked by the release of two most promoted youthful films of the year “Love Story 2050” and “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.” The young audience have loved the music of both the films and even the lead actors in the film have got acceptation from the audience from the initial promotional released of the film. But the trend of box-office is currently disastrous and nothing can be predicated .The college goers are excited to see the fate of these films and there is a lot of expectation from the films.

The so called safe Yash Raj Banner is no more safe on box-office. The banner has been delivering flops from some time. Worst was the year 2007 and 2008 has continued the trend. Changing actors, directors and using tricks have failed for Yash Raj Banner and the movies are turning out to be anther additions to the flop list of the year. The film “Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic” couldn’t generate any magic on the box –office and the film got collection around 30-40%.

The low collection of “Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic” will disappoint hit Kunal Kohli who had turned producer from the film though Kunal had been insisting that the film has been made in a very low budget of Rs 20 crore and recovering the budget will not be a difficult task for his film.

The film has its own advantages like the Yash Raj Film Distributors are themselves releasing the film and secondly the film has attraction in multiplexes where families are going to watch the film with kids. The film has another advantage that it is maintaining the collection level and drop in collections is not seen.

Though the film will not be able to continue making even 40% collections if any of the two releases “Love Story 2050” and “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na ,” get encouraging reports on the box-office on the coming Friday. The other releases of the last week were “Thodi Life Thoda Magic” and “Via Darjeeling” and both the films performed weak at box-office.
