The film “Rock On!!” is about hope, music, struggle to get your dreams and relationships. Farhan Akhtar is well versed in depicting youngsters’ in relations and friendships but music is not his field and he has done his best to make his debuting movie look real and honest. The film story has not many twists and turns but the depiction is clear. The film is about four friends Rob, Aditya, KD and Joe, who form a music band. The four are passionate about music and they want to get the break of their life and the basic show of the film is about how they struggle and work hard to get the final break.

The film shows four individuals occupied in music and they forget their lives and people around them for music .The film shows that even after putting on all effort many times you don’t get the result you deserved after years, but that is when, if you are not ready to loose hope, you continue to work towards your goal, you may achieve success.

The four members of the rocker band are together and one day they all separate after failing to get their dreams. The band members meet again after ten years and they again start from no-where to reach their dreams. Aditya is married for four years but his wife finds it difficult to understand him but when after years she sees him smiling with old friends, she feels happy. Joe is recognized, after 10 years, from his guitar not by face. Joe is into 10 year marriage, his wife is suffering setbacks in her career but the struggle gets paid off in the end.

In the film you have a number of relating memorable happy and sad moments. The film is not all comedy, fun, entertainment, items but it is life struggle and friendship. The film comes with its disadvantage like the movie goes slow many time and performance of debutant look new, but the final outcome is valuable.

The film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and he takes up new shots, new looks and show is different from regular masala movies in bollywood. The music from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s is just to suit the script of the film and the film runs from one song to other, to enhance the emotions of the script. Dialogues are best of all. Screenplay is average.

The performance of Farhan is new, Prachi looks ideal, Arjun is best of all, and Shahana Goswami is competent. Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny are ok. Koel Purie is average.

The film has the attraction to get young audience in multiplexes in metro-cities. The film will get average response.
