The film “Mukhbir” is about a man who is send to a gang of criminals as informer by masterminds and the man succeeds in winning the trusts of the gang members but the film script has no proper end to the informer’s story. The film lacks music to compensate the loopholes in script and only the initial hour show holds you glued to the screens. Om Puri’s performance is brilliant in the film.

The film story is about Kailash who is a teenager and he reaches prison but the police man realizes that the boy has the potential to serve as informer for his department and instead of recommending a six year jail term for his misdeeds, the 19 year old boy is sent to do the job of an informer in a gang. The police compel Kailash to be informer until unless he earns enough money needed to run his life smoothly.

Kailash reaches the gang that is basically into many wrongdoings and it includes drug deals, a kidney transplant racket and the main coordinators of the gang are the Mamu don’s daughter and Bijju. Kailash is occasionally helped by Om Puri as he is infiltrating the gang and winning the trust of every important person of the gang. At a point Kailash is asked to kill his mentor, the cop.

After these initial few sequences what happens to the script cannot be predicted. The director looses grip of the strong movie and the audience feel that the show is finished. The film editing is fine and initial part direction is wonderful. Even the performance of Om Puri and Raj is lovely. A few dialogues and scenes are memorable in the film.

But many avoidable sequences have been added in the film to confuse audience. Since you have many films on terrorism and underworlds, coming in line, it gets further mixed up with other scripts. The director should have strictly shown the fate of an informer. The film will have average response from audience (there are many competitive movies on terrorism and criminals).

Rating: 3/10
