The story of the film “Saas Bahu Aur Sensex” is about a mother Vinita Sen who gets divorced and leaves her comfortable home in Kolkata to come to a new place with daughter Nitya, who wanted to pursue studies to do MBA in USA but under the newly created financial pressure, Nitya has to work in a call centre.

Nitya is helped by friend Ritesh Jetmalani, who is very helping and he helps everybody he meets. He is a very sincere guy and he generally reaches late to office because he gets caught up in his way to help somebody in need. He loves to eat non vegetarian food and he loves Kirti Wagaskar, a young girl who is in lookout for short cuts in life and she is in search of rich man to catch, but if she fails she will have Ritesh as standby.

Vinita has kitty party friends in colony where she spends time but one day she finds some shares left by her father and she reaches the stock broking houses headed by Firoz Sethna, who helps her to invest money properly. The ladies of the building suspect Vinita and then Vinita takes her kitty party friends to same broker to help them invest money in market. Kitty parties turn into a meeting on stocks and market.

Then one day Kirti meets Yash, who is son of rich man owning a call centre, in which all the kitty party ladies have invested and if Kirti marries Yash it will not be beneficial for the ladies but if she married Ritesh, it will be good for the investing ladies. The story is how the lonely mother Vinita informs her daughter that her father left her at a later age, for a younger woman and she wanted these housewives to know the share market and be secure financially. The film is also about changing women role in Indian society.
