The film “SRK” is about the character named “Shivaji Rao Khote” who is called SRK by his friends and relatives. SRK is an educated man, he is college graduate in Economics and he lives in Kerala. He is a schoolteacher and he is married to Vidya and has two daughters in family.

SRK feels that his job has no value and he wants to go to some big city to get name and fame. He takes leave from his regular job and he fails at everything he tries, other than his job. Vidya tries to do the household jobs and Shivaji spends more money than what he earns. Vidya’s father-in-law and her own father are ex-servicemen and they try hard to help Shivaji get out of the place and to do something valuable.

Once the family members plan to send Shivaji to some religious journey to Sabrimala where he can understand his family responsibilities and try to improve himself. But the plans turn out to be a complete waste and instead SRK comes back with an obsession to get converted into a sanyasi. He goes aimlessly around the city and he is helpless in finding a solution to his problems. His wife stays alone and she tries an alternative of sewing clothes to carry out her living. She starts sewing clothes for contract.
