The film “Hari Puttar - A Comedy of Terrors” is targeted towards kids’ audience but the high competition in kids market has not been studied well by the movie makers. The film has no similarity to Harry Potter but it is inspired from the Hollywood movie “Home Alone” and the film is not properly made or acted well to attract audience to reach theatres.

The story of the film is about a 10 year old boy Zain Khan who plays the role of Hari Prasad Dhoonda and the boy shifts with his family from India to U.K. where his father Mr. Dhooda is given a secretive defense assignment and the complete project is stored in a computer chip.

When Mr. Dhoonda reached his new residence, he meets Hari’s uncle and Aunt and the house got filled up with children as kids of Mr. Dhoonda’s boss also reached the place. A trip is planned by the families and Hari is ridiculed by all the other kids and Hari commits a mistake and his mother sends him to a lonely bedroom in the night.

The next morning everybody is in a hurry to get to the trip and the families leave for the trip forgetting that Hari and his little cousin Tuk Tuk was at home. The two little children are left alone at house and two burglars Kali Mirchi try to steal the valuable Chip from Mr. Dhoonda’s house but they are interfered in their plan by Hari and Tuk Tuk.

As the families are heading towards the picnic spot, they realize that Hari and Tuk Tuk are not present in the group and Hari’s mother prepares to go back home to bring her son to the trip. The story is how Hari and Tuk Tuk initially are scared of being alone but later they enjoy their freedom and they intelligently fight the burglars.

The shoot locations are gorgeous but the direction is not strong to hold on, even the children as audience .The performance of Saurabh Shukla is good and Sarika, Aadesh Shrivastav, Shaan, Lilette Dubey, Jackie Shroff do not have much to offer in the movie. Zain Khan is ok and Swini Khare is fine in performance.

The film has many competitive movies in line to fight and to get audience .Even the kids audience will prefer animation movie that is thoughtfully made rather than watching this one.

Rating: 3/10
