Movie Review: Ramchand Pakistani

The Pakistani film “Ramchand Pakistani” is about a Pakistani Hindu boy in Indian jail, who crossed over from Pakistan. The film has some inspiring performance from the kid actor Syed Fazal Hussain who plays an eight year old boy and the father played by Rashid Farooqui. The relationship between father and son has been shown beautifully and the troubles faced by an innocent man in jail is the main subject of the film.

The film is about a poor father whose son accidentally gets into the border of India from Pakistan and he belongs to a low cast Hindu family. The film shows the year when Indian parliament was attacked by terrorists and all who were caught on borders were suspected of having a hand in the terrorist activities in India.

The boy is sent to jail and his father goes for searching for him and he too gets caught by the Indian border police and he is sent to the same jail. The father and son spend five years in jail and the mother of the eight year old keeps waiting for her husband and son to return. In agony she even attempts a suicide.

The film basically shows how the two innocent suffer in jail. The father takes up a fight to save his son from a pedophile in jail and he is helped by the prison officer, who becomes his friend later in the movie. Shoot locations in desserts are beautiful .The performance of most of the lead characters are fine. The film has a short storyline but the move is extended .The sufferings shown onscreen are touching. The music is average.

“Ramchand Pakistani “is not an entertaining movie or a movie with music and glamour to attract audience to theatres .It is movie that shows suffering of innocent people in jail. The audience will not like to watch movies with no entertainment and the film doesn’t have a strong theme, with some good music, it attracts people. Audience response can be seen only in multiplexes.
