What is in store in the last quarter from Bollywood?

As the nine months of 2008 have passed, movie industry is trying to count the number of mega hits or super hits from the year but the year was not as promising as expected. The number of movie releases in the year 2008 was very high but only a few movies could get the needed response. In the previous quarter “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” and “Singh Is Kinng” were real hits.

What is still left in the year is Akshay Kumar’s “Chandni Chowk To China” that is expected to release by October end. Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Fashion”, “Gajini “ , “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi “,” Yuvraaj “ , “Ek Vivaah Aisaa Bhi” and “Dostana” are 2008’s last quarter movies. “Ek Vivaah Aisaa Bhi” is a movie that will get the audience, who has been watching movies like “Welcome to Sajjanpur” that is not a complete multiplex movie.The movie “Welcome to Sajjanpur “was a small town story, that got audience in small towns and “Ek Vivaah Aisaa Bhi” is expected to do a better business with small town audience although the movie outcome is unpredictable.

Akshay Kumar had a lovely last year 2007 and the winning continued in 2008 ,”Singh Is Kinng” is a major success and he is waiting for “Chandni Chowk To China” and “Kambakth Ishq” to get similar responses from audience. “Fashion” is a critics movies but it is expected to get multiplex viewers. ”Gajini” is an Aamir Khan movie and audience has high expectation from any movies that comes from Aamir.

“Yuvraaj” is noted for its promotional and for the chemistry of Salman and Katrina. “Dostana” is also a movie that has appeal in youngsters and last but not least is “Rab Ne “, for which the audience is expecting that the film will be equivalent to “Dilwale Dulhaniyan Le Jayenge.” So many more movies are in store in the year 2008 and we can wait for the final verdict.
