MUSIC REVIEW: LIFE MEIN KABHI KABHI (2007)

Vikram Bhatt’s film “Life Mein Kabhi Kabhie” has music by Lalit Pandit and lyrics by Sameer. Despite a variety of good singers, there is something vital missing from the album. LMKK is a young film with an interesting concept about exploring love, life and happiness.

Gehra Gehra (Singer: Sunidhi Chauhan)
Ratings: 6.5/10
The track starts off as a slow, romantic piece, and catches pace soon to become a nice, peppy number. This is the best LMKK has to offer. Sunidhi does complete justice to the song. It has good lyrics to boast about with the melodious feel of Jatin-Lalit music. Sunidhi hasn’t let her fans down with this one too.

Hum Khushi Ki Chah Mein (Singer: Zubin Garg, Alka Yagnik)
Ratings: 5/10
Upcoming singer Zubin Garg features next in a philosophical, life story-narrating sort of a song titled “Hum khushi ki chah mein”. The track is likeable and sweet. Alka Yagnik chips in with two lines, with Zubin continuing to hold the center stage.

Hum Tum Hum Tum (Singer: Kay Kay, Gayatri Iyer)
Ratings: 3/10
Supposed to be a romantic number, it only makes one get as dispassionate as possible due to a boring tune and even more heartless singing. Gayatri Iyer makes her voice heard but Kay Kay doesn’t create the magic that he’s known for. The music too is just not interesting enough to make you sit up and listen. This one is a serious bore.

No Problem (Singer: Remo Fernandes)
Ratings: 4/10
Remo Fernandes, the king of pop and rock in India, croons “No problem”, a song that has a very Goan feel. It is a carefree, energetic number but fails to leave an impression. There is an attempt to create a college campus feel but still there isn’t much in it that would make you go for a repeat hearing.

Vallah Vallah (Singer: Shaan, Shamit, Mahalakshmi)
Ratings: 5/10
This is supposedly the title track of the movie. Mahalakshmi sounlds a lot like Sunidhi in this one. Shaan only makes the proceedings interesting while Shamit adds on as a background voiceover singer. The track lacks that something to actually make you want to hear it again and again.

Soundtrack Rating: 4/10 Upsetting tones!!
