MUSIC REVIEW: KYA LOVE STORY HAI (2007)

Cast:Tusshar Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Karan Hukku

Director: Lovely Singh

Producer: N R Pachisia

Music Composer: Pritam

Lyricist: Shabbir Ahmed

Music Label: T-Series

klshA romantic film’s USP lies in its music as music draws the attention of the crowd. Lovely Singh directed Kya Love Story Hai is a love story starring Tusshar Kapoor and Ayesha Takia in the lead roles. The music is composed by the man in top form, Pritam Chakraborty and the lyrics have been penned down by Shabbir Ahmed. The music is already making waves in the promos and is rising on the charts. Pritam has again managed to create cool melodies in this one with variance in every track.

i Miss You Everyday (Singer: Shaan)
Rating: 8.5/10
‘Miss You Everyday’ is a cool dance number with really cool music arrangements. The music has a western feel attached to it. Shaan delivers a power packed performance in this solo number. The song sounds funky and has a discotheque feel to it. The rhythm is synchronized throughout the track. The song will remain as a good foot tapping youthful number to which you can jive along on a dance floor for a long time.

Its Rocking (Singer: Alisha Chinoy)
Rating: 7.5/10

After the impact of ‘Miss you everyday’, the expectations are bound to rise sky high. And full credits goes to the creativity of the music director Pritam and lyricist Shabbir Ahmed for coming out with a golden melody in ‘It’s rocking’. Alisha Chinoy’s soft voice suits the track and mesmerizes you completely. The best part of the song is the added melody, ‘Udi Jab Jab Zulfein Teri’, which gets interspersed with the rest of the track at places.

Gumsum Hai Mera Dil (Singer: Sonu Nigam)
Rating: 6/10

Gumsum is Sonu Nigam solo number with a retro feel of 1960s to it. The track has a feel of ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ from Dil Chahta Hai. Sonu Nigam’s rendition to background male chorus to rhythm and melody contributing to make it sound like a song from the past. The song is average and will look good only with visuals.

Aye Khuda (Singer: Kunal Ganjawala)
Rating: 7.5/10

klshAye Khuda is a sufi number with a rock feel to it. Music instruments like ‘tabla’ play a major role in this track in creating a catchy rhythm for the song. Kunal Ganjawala enters into a creative combo mood of sufiyana and rock flavour. The track is fast paced with full on rock arrangements. The lyrics depict situations and are well written. All in all this one needs to be promoted else it will be wasted.

Deewana Teri Aankhon Ka (Singer: Joy and Jojo)
Rating: 9/10

Joy and Jojo join the band behind the mike for Deewana Teri Aankhon Ka. This one is a hip hop number with a great detailing done in the musical arrangements. It begins with rap-n-reggae and goes on to amaze you all throughout. The track is a sure shot hit and will rock the television screens shortly. Undoubtedly, the most impressive tack of the album.

Jeena Kya Tere Bina (Singer: Zubin)
Rating:7/10

If you have liked ‘Ya Ali’ and the remix versions of ‘Woh Lamhe’ and ‘Aadat’, you would not mind adding ‘Jeena’ in your song list too. Zubin graces this track with his superhit voice. Though it may not go an extra distance as the aforementioned numbers, it falls under the same genre and has in it to be reasonably successful, especially if the film turns out to be successful.

Overall Soundtrack: 8/10 A rocking one!!
