Isha Koppikar to play a Courtesan

Playing a courtesan seems to be a new trend among the Bollywood beauties. After Kareena, Rani and Ash essaying the character with elan, its time for Isha Koppikar to show her talent. She is scheduled to play the role of a courtesan in Kalpana Lajmi’s next film.

The yet untitled movie will be a period film based on a popular novel Sanyasi aur Sundari. The novel deals with the social status of prostitutes during the Ashoka period. According to Lajmi, the movie will highlight the social position of prostitutes in that society. In Ashoka’s era, they were treated as women of great intellect and artistic skills.

Isha Koppikar seems to be upbeat and excited for her new film. She finds it as an oppurtunity to venture on a completely new ground to prove her acting talent.
The film will be an average budget production and may do justice to the simple appeal in terms of its sets, in contrast to the lavish art direction in other such movies.
